Dangote Industries Limited is seeking a Shift Engineer to oversee the daily operations of the Power Plant at its Ibese facility in Ogun State. As part of one of Nigeria’s most diversified business conglomerates, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient and safe plant performance. This is a full-time position focused on maintaining operational excellence and minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise shift operations within the assigned area of the Power Plant to ensure efficient running.
  • Independently handle the operation of the Balance of Plant (BOP) area and the power plant control room.
  • Monitor and control parameters for all equipment in your assigned area.
  • Update and maintain records of activities, maintenance history, and important parameters in the control room PC.
  • Assist the shift manager in handling emergencies and ensure proper response to incidents.
  • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including system descriptions, logics, and interlocks for in-house training.
  • Manage process and service unit startups and shutdowns competently without affecting online units.
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards in the assigned area.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in gas-based power plants.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a control room environment.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering (with Power option), or an equivalent relevant discipline.
  • Good knowledge of applicable ISO standards.
  • Strong problem-solving, networking, and communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of power plant systems and interactions.
  • Proficiency in office productivity tools and knowledge of SAP production report preparation.
