This policy explains what personal information Omadaily (“we”, “us”) collects when you use omadaily.com, why we collect it and the choices you have. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
1. Information we collect
- When you contact us: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it) and your message.
- When you comment: the name, email address and comment you enter, and your IP address and browser details, which help us stop spam.
- Technical information: like most websites, our hosting provider records basic information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the site secure and working.
- Cookies: small files stored by your browser. See section 4.
We do not collect CVs or job applications. When you apply for a job you go directly to the employer, and their own privacy policy applies.
2. How we use your information
- To reply to your messages and requests
- To publish job adverts that employers send us
- To show and moderate comments
- To keep the website secure, prevent spam and fraud, and fix problems
- To understand which pages are useful so we can improve the site
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Who we share it with
We only share information with service providers who help us run the website (for example our web host and email provider), when the law requires it, or to protect our users from fraud. If we use analytics or advertising services (such as Google), they may receive technical information through cookies, as described below.
4. Cookies and your device
- Necessary: needed for the site to work and for security, and to remember your cookie choices.
- Analytics and advertising: used only if you agree in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time.
- Your display settings: if you choose dark mode or bigger text, that choice is saved only on your own device. It is never sent to us.
5. WhatsApp and Telegram groups
If you join our WhatsApp or Telegram groups, those apps are run by Meta and Telegram under their own privacy policies. Other members of a group may be able to see your name or phone number, depending on the app and your settings.
6. How long we keep information
We keep messages for as long as needed to deal with them and for our records, and comments for as long as they are published. Technical logs are kept for a short time for security.
7. Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Email hello@omadaily.com and we will respond within the time the law allows. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
8. Security
We protect the website with secure HTTPS connections, up-to-date software, strong access controls and regular security checks. No website is perfectly secure, so please never send passwords or bank details to anyone claiming to be from Omadaily.
9. Children
Omadaily is meant for job seekers and students. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
