About the role
Dangote Group, one of Nigeria’s most diversified business conglomerates, is seeking a Head of Production to join its team in Lagos. In this role, you will ensure the plant operates at optimal capacity while overseeing the efficient production of high-quality clinker and cement. Your work will directly contribute to generating optimal revenue for Dangote Cement Plc (DCP).
Responsibilities
- Prepare and provide production reports to leadership to support decision-making.
- Supervise the implementation of approved recommendations and production plans.
- Create and manage the plant’s production, capacity, and materials requirement plans in line with DCP’s strategic intent.
- Liaise with the Maintenance team to coordinate planned shutdowns for production line maintenance.
- Provide overall guidance, leadership, and strategic direction to the Production team.
- Oversee the execution of cement kiln lining repairs, raw and cement mill operations, and the cement packaging system.
- Stay updated on new developments in cement production and recommend improvements to the Deputy Plant Director.
- Ensure production processes follow agreed-upon procedures and guidelines.
- Coordinate the production team to achieve daily targets within specified quality, budget, and time constraints.
- Participate in developing a production strategy for Dangote Cement Plc.
- Prepare annual production budgets based on market forces and ensure their achievement through resource optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 20 years of relevant work experience, with at least 10 years in a management position.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong knowledge of the cement industry, including local and international trends and challenges.
- Good supervisory, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Strong relationship management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of opportunities, regulations, and legislations relating to the cement manufacturing industry.
