About the role
Dangote Industries Limited is seeking an experienced Kiln Refractory Maintenance Supervisor to join its production team in DR Congo. This full-time role focuses on ensuring the reliability and performance of refractory materials in kilns and high-temperature equipment. You will work to reduce unplanned downtime, optimize service life, and maintain strict compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the maintenance, inspection, repair, and replacement of refractory materials.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Mentor and develop refractory technicians and furnace maintenance personnel.
- Oversee contractor work to ensure quality, technical compliance, and cost control.
- Use diagnostic tools, such as thermal imaging, to monitor refractory condition.
- Analyze operating data to evaluate performance and optimize service life.
- Implement preventive and proactive maintenance programs.
- Coordinate activities during furnace shutdowns for inspection and repair.
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Procurement teams to meet operational goals.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- 8 years of practical experience in supervising, installing, or maintaining refractory materials in industrial kilns.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
- Good knowledge of kiln operations, equipment, and industrial environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of applicable QHSE requirements and practices.
- Fluency in French is an advantage.
