About the role
NASD Plc aims to be the primary hub for capital formation in West Africa by providing platforms for primary and secondary market liquidity. We are seeking a senior commercial origination professional to drive revenue growth and market activity. This role requires strong capital-markets relationships and the ability to convert those relationships into transactions and revenue.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and manage relationships with market makers and liquidity providers.
- Develop distribution partnerships, including fintech and brokerage integrations, to broaden investor access.
- Build strong relationships with issuing houses, brokers, investment banks, and other market participants.
- Build and manage a measurable pipeline of prospective issuers across Commercial Paper, equity, and private-market securities.
- Identify companies suitable for admission to NASD and develop compelling commercial propositions.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Technology to resolve transaction obstacles.
- Lead the commercial development of NASD’s secondary market for Commercial Paper.
- Maintain a live pipeline showing opportunity, estimated transaction value, and expected closing dates.
- Develop senior relationships with CEOs, CFOs, and corporate-finance teams of prospective issuers.
- Originate companies suitable for Commercial Paper programmes and persuade them to quote through NASD.
- Own prospective transactions commercially from first contact through post-transaction management.
- Deliver agreed annual revenue, transaction-origination, and market-activity targets.
Requirements
- Strong existing relationships across Nigerian corporates, brokers, issuing houses, and institutional investors.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Commercial Paper, fixed income, equity/private markets, and capital-raising processes.
- 10-15+ years of relevant capital-markets experience, ideally across investment banking, securities dealing, or market infrastructure.
- Demonstrable track record of personally originating and closing transactions with clear evidence of commercial outcomes.
- Ability to translate relationships into mandates, transactions, liquidity, and measurable revenue.
