About the role
NewGlobe is hiring a Director of Schools to lead educational transformation in North-West Nigeria. Based in Katsina, you will oversee the performance of schools in your territory, ensuring high-quality learning outcomes and strong community engagement. This role involves managing a large field team of School Supervisors and collaborating with government officials, parents, and school leaders. You will use data to drive performance and ensure rigorous implementation of core school programs.
Responsibilities
- Manage the performance of all schools in your territory, focusing on school management, academic programming, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead and supervise a team of School Supervisors, providing ongoing mentorship and performance feedback.
- Use data to monitor teaching practices and school management, driving improvements in student performance and character development.
- Spend 20% of your time in schools observing teaching, management, and engaging with stakeholders.
- Ensure schools meet enrollment targets and prepare staff and students for government-proctored examinations.
- Oversee the budget, prevent fraud, and ensure financial discipline within the Schools group.
- Collaborate with the Leadership & Development team to deliver professional development sessions for supervisors and school staff.
Requirements
- An undergraduate or master’s degree.
- Proven management and leadership experience, particularly in leading field-based teams.
- A strong belief in data-driven decision-making.
- Experience in school management is a plus.
- Fluency in English and Hausa is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- A bias towards action and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
