About the role
NewGlobe supports governments in transforming public education systems to improve learning outcomes. We are looking for a Director, Academics to take ownership of educational results across schools in Katsina. This position involves leading academic initiatives, coordinating with internal specialists, and serving as the primary academic expert for government partners and school communities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the execution and coordination of the core academic program through the creation of the yearly Academic Plan.
- Advocate for learning outcomes and serve as the academic expert for other departments.
- Provide feedback to the Instructional Design team to improve learning outcomes and cultural context.
- Represent NewGlobe to key state stakeholders, including SUBEB, MOE, and UBEC.
- Conduct market and regulatory research to inform instructional systems and policies.
- Identify areas for growth in academic offerings and create programs that improve student learning.
- Manage the local Academics team, including the Programme Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; graduate degrees are preferred.
- Experience working with primary schools as a teacher, school leader, or project team member.
- Experience evaluating student learning or teacher development as a consultant.
- Data-driven mindset with experience managing high-performance cultures.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments and collaborate effectively.
