About the role
Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc is a leading foods company in Africa, known for brands like Golden Penny. We are looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Apapa, Lagos. This role focuses on ensuring our mill machinery and power generation systems run efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Inspect power plant equipment and indicators to detect operating issues.
- Maintain and repair auxiliary equipment that supports generator operations.
- Operate main distribution panels for power changeovers.
- Operate all diesel and gas generators within the factory.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and repairs to avoid breakdowns.
- Service and repair all diesel and gas generators.
- Document maintenance parameters to drive plant improvement.
- Perform efficient troubleshooting and fault finding on machinery.
Requirements
- Qualification: NABTEB, City & Guilds, or WAEC Technical certification. Alternatively, 5 O’level credits including Mathematics and English in not more than 2 sittings.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of cognate experience.
- Skills: Efficient planning and execution of maintenance schedules, proactive problem-solving, good verbal and written communication skills, and knowledge of maintenance management, corrosion prevention, pneumatics, and conveyor systems.
