GEC Petroleum Development Company (GPDC) is a Nigeria-based energy resources company focused on the exploration and development of oil and gas assets. Founded in 1991, the company began as a service contractor for international oil companies before evolving into an active operator. It is headquartered in Lagos, with offices located at Architects Place in Victoria Island.
GPDC holds a portfolio of five oil and gas blocks spanning approximately 8,300 square kilometres of onshore and offshore acreage in the Niger Delta, Anambra basins, and the Gulf of Guinea. The company operates four of these licences, including the Adofi River and Afiando fields, which are currently being developed for production. In 2024, Matrix Energy Exploration and Production Company Limited joined as a partner on the OPL 2010 block to assist in bringing it to production.
The organisation hires for technical roles within the oil and gas sector, such as Senior Geoscience Interpreters, requiring experience in subsurface evaluation, seismic interpretation, and exploration drilling. GPDC describes its mission as maintaining a leading position as an oil and gas operator through strategic alliances and skilled professional teams.
