About the role
Emmanuel Bakeries Limited (EMB) is a prominent distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCGs) and Non-Consumable Goods in Kogi State. With over 22 years of experience, the company is based in Lokoja and has a strong reputation for high-quality retail distribution services. We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to identify new opportunities, expand our customer base, and drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to achieve growth objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities and trends.
- Generate leads and convert prospects into active customers.
- Identify and pursue new markets, customers, distributors, and strategic partnerships.
- Develop strategies for market expansion and increased product penetration.
- Prepare business proposals, presentations, and commercial offers.
- Negotiate business terms with customers and partners within company guidelines.
- Support the development of new products, routes to market, and distribution channels.
- Monitor competitors and provide management with market intelligence.
- Maintain strong relationships with major accounts and strategic customers.
- Prepare periodic reports on business development activities and revenue.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Business Development, Sales, or Account Management.
- FMCG, distribution, or retail industry experience is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver measurable results.
- Minimum of a B.Sc. in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline.
- A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
