About the role
Emmanuel Bakeries Limited (EMB) is a prominent distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCGs) and Non-Consumable Goods in Kogi State. Based in Lokoja, the company has built a strong reputation over 22 years for delivering high-quality retail distribution services for food products, home care, and body essentials. We are currently looking for a reliable Checker to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Report any discrepancies immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
- Follow company procedures for stock accountability and warehouse operations.
- Monitor loading and unloading activities when assigned.
- Maintain accurate records of checked and dispatched goods.
- Assist with stock counting and physical verification.
- Ensure proper handling of products during dispatch.
- Verify that the correct products are loaded for each customer or sales representative.
- Prevent unauthorized products from leaving the warehouse.
- Identify shortages, excesses, damaged products, or other discrepancies.
- Check product quantities against invoices, loading sheets, and dispatch documents.
- Support periodic stock-taking exercises.
Requirements
- Minimum of HND or B.Sc. qualification.
- FMCG or distribution experience is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Checker, Storekeeper, Warehouse Assistant, or in a similar role is an advantage.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good numerical and observational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain accountability.
- Must be reliable and physically capable of performing assigned duties.
