About the role
Katchey Company Limited is an ISO 9001:2015 certified supplier of science and medical laboratory equipment, chemicals, and reagents. We are looking for a Business Development Executive to join our team in Ikeja, Lagos. This full-time position focuses on understanding client testing requirements, recommending appropriate laboratory services, and building strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Monitor sales performance, customer trends, and business opportunities.
- Prepare and negotiate quotations, proposals, contracts, and commercial terms.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, industry events, and tenders.
- Drive customer retention, account growth, cross-selling, and upselling.
- Develop and convert new business opportunities to maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Prepare sales reports, forecasts, dashboards, and management insights.
- Conduct market research to identify new sectors and business opportunities.
- Work closely with laboratory and technical teams to develop client solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum of Second Class Upper) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 3–5 years’ proven experience in business development, technical sales, laboratory services, scientific sales, or a related role.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrable track record in customer acquisition, negotiation, account management, and customer retention.
- Good knowledge of laboratory techniques, analytical methods, and testing parameters.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate technical knowledge into business opportunities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications.
- Familiarity with techniques such as HPLC, GC/GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, AAS, ICP-OES/ICP-MS, UV-Vis, proximate analysis, microbiological and physicochemical testing is an advantage.
