About the role
Christian Aid is a UK-based international NGO working to end poverty in Africa. In Nigeria, the organization focuses on community health, HIV, accountable governance, and gender. The Sustainable Entrepreneurship-Led Poultry Transformation Programme (SEPTP) supports young people aged 18 to 35 in the poultry value chain.
This internship is for a one-year duration, subject to performance and programme needs. You will report to the Senior Communications Specialist. The role is based in Abuja and Ogun, with travel to other implementation locations.
Responsibilities
- Work with the MEAL team to gather and interpret youth feedback to inform planning and adaptation.
- Support the ethical documentation of youth stories and present recommendations to management.
- Facilitate consultations and strengthen relationships with youth groups and enterprises.
- Identify and address barriers affecting young women, persons with disabilities, and displaced persons.
- Promote safe, accessible engagement and refer protection concerns through established procedures.
Requirements
- Must be a young person aged 18 to 35 at the time of application.
- Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or equivalent in development studies, agriculture, social sciences, or a related field.
- Interest in agrifood systems, youth empowerment, or enterprise development.
- Experience in engaging diverse young people and facilitating discussions is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Willingness to travel to SEPTP implementation locations.
