About the role

Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is a non-profit organization in Nigeria dedicated to fostering peace and reducing poverty. We are seeking a qualified and analytical Senior MEAL and Innovation Officer to join our team in Maiduguri, Borno. This position focuses on strengthening evidence-based programming, ensuring accountability to affected populations, and driving continuous learning across our humanitarian and development interventions.

The successful candidate will support the design and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) plans, results frameworks, and data collection tools. You will also promote the use of digital solutions and practical innovations to improve data quality, program efficiency, and service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • MEAL System Development: Develop and maintain MEAL frameworks, monitoring plans, and results frameworks aligned with donor requirements and organizational standards.
  • Field Monitoring & Assessments: Conduct baseline studies, needs assessments, and field verification visits to ensure program activities meet established standards and targets.
  • Data Management & Analysis: Design data collection tools, manage databases, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and performance gaps.
  • Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP): Establish and manage safe, accessible feedback and complaint mechanisms, ensuring beneficiary voices inform program adjustments.
  • Learning & Innovation: Facilitate learning processes, document lessons learned, and pilot innovative digital or procedural approaches to improve program effectiveness.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Prepare accurate MEAL reports, dashboards, and visualizations for internal management and donor compliance.
  • Capacity Building: Train field staff and enumerators on MEAL tools, data quality assurance, and accountability principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Health, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in MEAL, accountability, or program quality, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing MEAL plans, results frameworks, and indicator tracking systems.
  • Practical experience in field monitoring, data analysis, and program performance reviews.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with digital data collection tools like KoboToolbox or ODK.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Experience in complex or insecure operating environments is an advantage.
