About the role
M-KOPA is a fast-growing FinTech company that helps millions of underbanked customers across Africa access life-enhancing products and services. We are looking for a Senior Growth Marketing Manager to join our team remotely from Lagos. This role offers a deliberate path toward pod leadership, allowing you to work across different areas of the business and gain broad experience in growth and lifecycle marketing.
Responsibilities
- Phase 1: Repeat Phones. Take ownership of reactivation and upgrade campaigns in CleverTap. Work closely with the Growth Lead to understand performance drivers and identify new opportunities.
- Phase 2: Cross into Digital Lending. Collaborate with the Digital Lending lead to understand cash loan growth end-to-end before taking ownership of the area.
- Phase 3: Own Digital Lending. Carry primary responsibility for Digital Lending for a defined period, with support available from the Repeat Phones lead if needed.
- Phase 4: Move into Lifecycle. Join the Lifecycle pod full-time in the second half of next year, reporting to the Lifecycle CRM Lead and helping shape the future of the pod.
- Build and run multi-channel campaigns (SMS, WhatsApp, push, in-app) in CleverTap against pod goals.
- Track funnel performance, flag drop-off points, and run structured experiments with clear hypotheses.
- Turn successful strategies into documented playbooks and maintain clean data quality for leadership reporting.
Requirements
- 5+ years in growth, performance, or lifecycle marketing, ideally in fintech, telco, or e-commerce.
- Real ownership over campaign or pod achievements, not just involvement.
- Hands-on fluency in CRM platforms like CleverTap, Braze, or similar.
- Comfortable reading funnels and cohorts without translation.
- Strong judgment to understand what is working in a pod and make strategic calls.
- Energized by ambiguity and ready to work across multiple pods.
- Strong presence to build trust quickly with senior leads.
