About the role
Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting peace and reducing poverty in Nigeria. We are seeking a qualified Nutrition Officer to join our team in Maiduguri, Borno. This is a contract position focused on implementing nutrition programs for vulnerable and crisis-affected populations.
You will work closely with the Nutrition Programme Manager, health teams, and community personnel to ensure nutrition services are accessible, safe, and responsive to community needs. The role involves day-to-day implementation, technical support, monitoring, and reporting of nutrition activities in line with humanitarian standards and donor requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nutrition screening and identify individuals at risk of malnutrition for appropriate referral.
- Support infant and young child feeding (IYCF) activities and provide culturally appropriate nutrition education.
- Monitor the implementation of nutrition programs against approved targets and schedules.
- Manage and follow up on nutrition cases, ensuring accurate records and continuity of care.
- Coordinate community outreach, mobilization, and engagement with local structures.
- Monitor nutrition commodities, supplies, and stock levels to prevent shortages.
- Collect, verify, and report accurate nutrition program data and indicators.
- Adhere to safeguarding, child protection, and PSEA requirements at all times.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Food and Nutrition, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in nutrition or community health.
- Experience in nutrition screening, identification, referral, and follow-up.
- Knowledge of infant and young child feeding and maternal nutrition.
- Strong skills in data collection, monitoring, and reporting.
- Experience in community mobilization and nutrition education.
- Commitment to safeguarding, accountability, and humanitarian principles.
