About the role
Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting peace and reducing poverty in Nigeria. We are seeking two qualified and compassionate Medical Doctors to join our team in Maiduguri, Borno. This role is ideal for a medical professional committed to quality healthcare, patient safety, and ethical practice within a humanitarian context.
You will work closely with nurses, midwives, pharmacists, and other health staff to ensure that vulnerable and crisis-affected populations receive timely, safe, and respectful care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive medical consultations, clinical assessments, and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage common medical conditions in accordance with approved clinical guidelines.
- Provide appropriate treatment, prescriptions, and follow-up care.
- Identify patients requiring urgent or specialized care and facilitate timely referrals.
- Support maternal, newborn, and child health services, including identifying high-risk pregnancies.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, patient records, and health programme reporting.
- Promote preventive healthcare practices, including immunization, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support community-based health promotion activities.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control standards and report clinical incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration and current practising licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience after qualification.
- Experience working in a hospital, health facility, humanitarian programme, or similar healthcare setting.
- Strong clinical documentation and report-writing skills.
- Good knowledge of standard clinical guidelines, treatment protocols, and infection prevention practices.
- Desirable: Experience with NGOs, INGOs, UN agencies, or in conflict-affected environments.
