About the role

Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting peace and reducing poverty in Nigeria. We are currently recruiting an Information and Communication Assistant to support our humanitarian and development programmes in Borno State.

This is a fixed-term contract position lasting 11 months. The role involves supporting the collection, organization, and dissemination of programme information, as well as managing digital records and communication materials. You will work closely with programme teams and the MEAL unit to ensure accurate and timely communication while respecting beneficiary dignity and data protection standards.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, verify, and organize programme information, field reports, and success stories.
  • Draft, edit, and format communication materials such as newsletters, fact sheets, and presentations.
  • Support the creation of human-interest stories, case studies, and visual content using approved templates.
  • Take photographs and record short videos of programme activities, ensuring proper consent and safeguarding compliance.
  • Assist in updating LPF’s website and social media accounts, including drafting posts and monitoring engagement.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical archives of communication records and media files.
  • Support donor visibility requirements and prepare materials for official engagements and reports.
  • Ensure all content adheres to LPF’s communication standards, safeguarding policies, and data protection procedures.

Requirements

  • National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Media Studies, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in communication, information management, content development, or media support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Familiarity with basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and social media content preparation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a demanding humanitarian environment and with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of local languages in Borno State is an advantage.
