About the role
Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is a non-profit organization in Nigeria dedicated to peace and poverty alleviation. We are looking for a proactive and organized Human Resources Assistant to join our team in Borno. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the HR Unit, ensuring that personnel records are accurate, confidential, and well-maintained. You will work under the supervision of the HR Manager to help implement HR policies and support staff across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment Support: Assist with vacancy announcements, screening applications, coordinating interviews, and preparing offer letters and contracts.
- Personnel Records: Maintain accurate physical and electronic staff files, track contract expiries, probation periods, and ensure documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Coordinate new staff induction, track onboarding requirements, and manage exit processes including exit interviews and clearance documentation.
- Leave & Attendance: Monitor staff attendance, track leave balances, and maintain records of staff movements and transfers.
- Performance Management: Support appraisal processes, organize probation reviews, and maintain training records.
- HR Administration: Respond to basic staff inquiries, draft routine HR communications, and assist with HR data entry and reporting.
- Compliance: Uphold safeguarding standards, confidentiality requirements, and organizational codes of conduct.
Requirements
- A minimum of a National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in human resources, personnel administration, or office administration.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, for data entry and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience in an NGO or humanitarian setting is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes.
