About the role
Dangote Industries Limited is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fabricator / Welder to join its team at the Apapa Terminal in Lagos. In this position, you will be responsible for carrying out fabrication, welding, and maintenance activities safely and efficiently. Your work will help ensure that all equipment and structures meet the required quality and operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform fabrication, welding, cutting, and fitting activities according to approved specifications and safety standards.
- Inspect materials, welds, and fabricated structures to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
- Operate, maintain, and care for welding machines, fabrication tools, and related equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on fabrication and welding equipment.
- Report equipment defects, safety hazards, and operational concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by properly cleaning tools and work areas after use.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or Trade Test Certificate in Welding, Fabrication, or a related discipline.
- Skills: Good knowledge of fabrication and welding techniques, ability to read basic technical drawings, and strong attention to detail.
- Physical Requirements: Medically fit to perform physically demanding tasks, including a 12-hour shift schedule six days per week.
- Attributes: Safety-conscious, self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
