About the role
Ascentech Services Limited is seeking a dedicated Food Safety Officer to join their team in Kano. This full-time position is within the food processing and manufacturing industry. You will play a key role in maintaining high safety standards and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure GMP, GHP, and hygiene standards are met in production areas, warehouses, and laboratories.
- Implement and maintain the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) in line with HACCP, FSSC/ISO 22000, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct food safety and hygiene training for employees to promote a strong safety culture.
- Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs), OPRPs, and overall food safety compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Food Safety/HACCP certification (Level 3 or 4); FSSC/ISO 22000 certification is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GHP, FSMS, and food safety regulations.
- 2–5 years’ experience in Food Safety or Quality Assurance within a food manufacturing or processing environment.
