About the role
Stanbic IBTC Bank is seeking a resourceful leader to join its Business & Commercial Banking team. As the Coverage Head for the North West, you will be based in Kano and play a pivotal role in driving the bank’s commercial strategy. This full-time position involves leading a dedicated team to deliver exceptional client service and innovative financial solutions across the region.
Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of Commercial Banking strategy through defined coverage plans and client-growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, Credit, and Risk functions to ensure seamless customer experiences.
- Manage portfolio risk by identifying emerging risks, concentration exposure, and impairment trends.
- Drive integrated solutioning by coordinating lending, trade finance, treasury, and digital banking capabilities.
- Champion the adoption of digital solutions, CRM platforms, and sales effectiveness tools.
- Optimize the distribution network, including physical infrastructure and agency banking, to reduce costs and drive digital migration.
- Build high-performing teams through coaching, succession planning, and talent management.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, regulatory requirements, AML/CFT standards, and KYC obligations.
- Deliver revenue, profitability, and deposit objectives while maintaining effective business continuity.
Requirements
- A First Degree in Business Commerce.
- Regulatory Fit-and-Proper Accreditation is required.
- Relevant Financial Services, Leadership, Professional Banking, or Credit Risk qualifications are preferred.
- Strong competencies in risk response strategy, financial acumen, and customer experience.
- Ability to pursue goals, develop strategies, and empower individuals.
