About the scholarship
The Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships are funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and managed by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC). This scheme supports talented individuals from eligible low and middle-income Commonwealth countries to pursue full-time taught Master’s degrees at UK universities. The goal is to develop leaders and innovators who will contribute to sustainable development in their home countries upon returning.

- Tuition fees: Full coverage of approved tuition fees at the UK university.
- Travel: Approved airfare from the home country to the UK and return at the end of the award.
- Living allowance: A monthly stipend of £1,712, or £2,000 for students at universities in the London metropolitan area.
- Study travel: A grant towards the cost of study-related travel within the UK or overseas.
- Child allowance: For widowed, divorced, or single parents, an allowance of £622 per month for the first child and £154 per month for the second and third child under 16, if living in the UK.
Who can apply
- Citizens of, or granted refugee status by, an eligible Commonwealth country, or British Protected Persons.
- Permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
- Available to start studies in the UK by September 2027.
- Hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honours standard, or a lower second-class degree with a relevant postgraduate qualification by September 2027.
- Unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
