About the scholarship
The Gates Cambridge Scholarship Programme supports outstanding postgraduate students from outside the United Kingdom. Each year, the Trust awards approximately 70 full-cost scholarships to students who demonstrate intellectual ability, leadership potential, and a commitment to improving the lives of others. These scholars join a community of around 250 students studying across various departments and colleges at the University of Cambridge.
What it covers
- Core funding: University Composition Fee, a maintenance allowance (up to £22,050 per year for single students), one economy airfare at the start and end of the course, and visa/Immigration Health Surcharge costs.
- Discretionary funding: Academic development grants (up to £4,000), dependent children allowance (up to £18,244 per year for two or more children), fieldwork maintenance support, maternity/paternity funding, and hardship funding.
