About the role
ECOM Agroindustrial Corp Limited is a global leader in soft commodity services, specializing in coffee, cocoa, and cotton. We are seeking a Cleaning Machine Operator to join our team in one of four locations: Oyo, Kaduna, Gombe, or Nasarawa. This role involves operating and maintaining equipment to process sesame, soyabeans, and other agricultural products while ensuring high standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and adjust commodity cleaning machines to remove impurities such as stones, dust, and metal particles.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections and perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and escalate complex faults for corrective action.
- Record production output, downtime, and machine performance to support operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Requirements
- Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience operating grain cleaning, agricultural processing, or industrial machinery.
- Ability to operate and monitor industrial cleaning machinery safely and efficiently.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and good record-keeping skills.
- Technical or vocational training in mechanical or industrial operations is an added advantage.
