About the role
Fadac Resources and Services Limited is looking for a skilled Chinese Translator to join their team in Lagos. This full-time position focuses on accurately translating materials between Chinese (Simplified and/or Traditional) and English. You will ensure that all content is culturally appropriate, clear, and consistent.
Responsibilities
- Translate written content, including marketing materials, legal documents, and internal communications, between English and Chinese.
- Localize content to resonate with target audiences while preserving the original meaning and brand voice.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify terminology and context.
- Maintain and update translation glossaries, style guides, and terminology databases.
- Perform quality checks and proofread translations for accuracy, grammar, and style.
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
Requirements
- Native or near-native proficiency in Chinese (Simplified and/or Traditional) and fluent English.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Translation, Linguistics, Chinese Studies, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a professional translator (minimum 2–3 years preferred).
- Strong understanding of cultural differences between Chinese-speaking markets and Western audiences.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ) is a plus.
