About the role

Emmanuel Bakeries Limited (EMB) is a leading distributor of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCGs) and non-consumables in Kogi State. With over 22 years of experience operating from Lokoja, the company is looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial records and support management with accurate reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor expenses and identify unusual or unsupported transactions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory requirements.
• Prepare and review financial statements and periodic management reports.
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
• Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile bank, cash, customer, and supplier accounts.
• Monitor receivables and payables, following up on outstanding balances.
• Prepare invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other financial documents.
• Support internal and external audit exercises by providing required documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum of a B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Relevant professional accounting certification is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in FMCG, distribution, or manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical ability, and analytical skills.
