About the role
Davina Hill Resort and Hotel is seeking a polite and customer-focused Waitress or Waiter to join their team in Gwarinpa, Abuja. This full-time position focuses on delivering excellent service to guests in the restaurant and lounge areas. You will be responsible for ensuring a memorable dining experience through professional conduct and efficient service.
Responsibilities
- Guest Service: Welcome guests, escort them to tables, present menus, and address their needs and inquiries politely.
- Ordering and Serving: Take accurate food and beverage orders, communicate them to the kitchen and bar, and serve meals according to hotel standards.
- Hygiene and Cleanliness: Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, keep dining areas clean, and follow food safety procedures.
- Equipment Management: Ensure cutlery, glassware, and other service items are available and report any shortages or damage.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Professional Conduct: Adhere to hotel policies, maintain confidentiality, and treat all guests and colleagues with respect.
Requirements
- Minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification.
- At least 1 year of experience as a waitress, waiter, or in food service is an advantage.
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Neat, professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling orders and bills.
