About the role
Dangote Industries Limited is looking for a VFD Specialist to join the team at its Obajana plant in Kogi State. This role focuses on the operational maintenance of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), specifically Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) types. The position requires hands-on expertise with major drive manufacturers, including Siemens, ABB, SEW-Eurodrive, WEG, Nordac, Emerson, Schneider, and Vacon.
Responsibilities
- Review the performance and daily operational status of all VFD types.
- Ensure preventive maintenance programs are implemented according to the agreed schedule.
- Monitor the effectiveness of maintenance programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Enforce safety standards and work procedures for VFD operations and maintenance.
- Provide training, development, and leadership on VFD systems, including troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Instrument, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 20 years of demonstrated operating experience in VFD panel maintenance and troubleshooting.
- At least 3 years of experience in a management position.
- In-depth knowledge of VFD operational systems, including uploading/downloading programming parameters.
- Strong skills in VFD panel troubleshooting, drive operation, maintenance, and spare parts selection.
