About the role
Leap Microfinance Institution is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Verification Officer to join their team in Abuja (FCT). This full-time position focuses on ensuring the accuracy and security of loan applicant data.
Responsibilities
- Confirm KYC information, including BVN, NIN, and ID cards.
- Conduct thorough verification of loan applicants and their guarantors.
- Carry out physical visits to applicants’ residences and places of business.
- Keep verification records secure and confidential.
- Identify discrepancies and potential risks during the verification process.
- Prepare accurate verification reports and submit findings promptly.
- Validate submitted documents and information.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in a relevant discipline.
- Previous experience in verification or field operations (Microfinance or Banking preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Strong communication, analytical, and investigation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and professionalism.
- Good knowledge of the local area and its markets.
