About the role
International Breweries Plc is seeking a Utilities Team Leader to join our team in Sagamu, Ogun. This position focuses on ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all utility systems that support brewery production. You will be responsible for managing steam generation, refrigeration, compressed air, water treatment, wastewater treatment, power distribution, and CO₂ systems. The role aims to maintain utility availability at the required quality, quantity, and cost while driving continuous improvement in energy, water, and environmental performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the operation of all brewery utility plants and equipment.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of steam, chilled water, compressed air, electricity, treated water, and CO₂.
- Supervise utilities operators, technicians, and contractors while conducting performance reviews.
- Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities with maintenance planners.
- Monitor utility Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as kWh/hl beer produced and water-to-beer ratio.
- Manage wastewater treatment plant operations and ensure compliance with environmental permits.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports and manage utility budgets.
- Apply Lean and continuous improvement methodologies to drive digitalization and automation.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of engineering or utilities experience in a brewery, beverage, food processing, FMCG, or manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience operating boilers, steam systems, refrigeration plants, air compressors, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, and electrical distribution systems.
- Technical skills in PLC and automation systems, reliability engineering, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Strong leadership skills in problem-solving, team management, and stakeholder management.
