About the role
ServiceNow is seeking an experienced Applied Security Engineer to join the Architecture Consulting & Engineering Services (ACES) team. This role focuses on helping highly regulated customers, including major financial and healthcare institutions, securely adopt the ServiceNow platform, AI capabilities, and emerging technologies. You will operate at the intersection of security, product, engineering, and customer success to ensure clients meet their compliance and risk-management objectives.
Responsibilities
- Partner with customer security, architecture, and executive stakeholders to address security concerns and accelerate platform adoption.
- Develop customer-facing security reference architectures that define trust boundaries, data flows, and identity models.
- Perform threat modeling exercises for ServiceNow products, AI services, and customer deployment architectures.
- Analyze security architectures across cloud-native and distributed systems environments.
- Lead security deep dives covering networking, identity, encryption, and AI security controls.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to identify capability gaps and advocate for improvements.
- Build scalable artifacts such as architecture patterns, deployment guides, and technical whitepapers.
- Assess integrations involving AI, cloud services, APIs, and Kubernetes environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering, security architecture, cloud security, or related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of core security principles, including identity and access management, cryptography, and secure software development.
- Experience assessing and securing cloud-native architectures.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, container security, and modern application deployment patterns.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP.
- Experience conducting threat modeling using frameworks such as STRIDE, ATT&CK, or PASTA.
- Ability to build and communicate architecture diagrams clearly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage audiences from engineers to CISOs.
