About the role
Elastic, the Search AI Company, is looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Control Plane – Hosted team. You will focus on technical design and key functional areas of Elastic’s Cloud offerings. This role involves coding, solving complex debugging scenarios, and prioritizing features to improve the platform used by over 50% of the Fortune 500.
Responsibilities
- Guide cross-team technical designs and help create high-level architecture.
- Lead development best practices to ensure a reliable and scalable foundation.
- Contribute to technical plans and direction within your team and across other product teams.
- Collaborate with global distributed teams, including Support and Elasticsearch engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with a track record of delivering high-quality code.
- Experience providing pragmatic technical leadership for a group of engineers.
- Knowledge of back-end languages such as Scala, Java, or Go.
- Technical depth in SaaS-relevant technologies like orchestration, networking, or containers.
- Passion for automation and quality.

- Base salary range: $133,200 – $159,800 USD.
