About the role
Blank Street is launching its first location in Los Angeles and is seeking a Shift Lead to help establish the store’s culture. As the heartbeat of the team, you will set the standard for customer service, product quality, and team energy. This is a full-time position requiring 30-40 hours per week, with availability for peak days including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Responsibilities
- Lead the shift: Direct, coach, and support the team while maintaining control of the floor.
- Train staff: Work with the General Manager and Training Team to onboard new members and ensure consistent standards.
- Deliver hospitality: Provide welcoming service to turn customers into regulars.
- Resolve issues: Handle customer or team concerns calmly and with a solutions-oriented approach.
- Maintain standards: Ensure the environment meets Local Department of Health and Blank Street cleanliness and safety requirements.
- Manage operations: Master cash handling, inventory, waste tracking, and opening/closing procedures.
- Support marketing: Partner with Operations and Marketing teams for events and promotions.
Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years in a customer service leadership role (e.g., Shift Leader, Key Holder), preferably in hospitality, coffee, or beverage.
- Age: 18 years or older.
- Physical ability: Able to lift 25+ lbs and stand for long periods.
- Availability: Must work 2 peak days (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday). Weekend and holiday availability is preferred.
- Work authorization: You must be authorized to work in the U.S. Blank Street will use E-Verify to confirm authorization upon acceptance of a job offer.
