This team is dedicated to enhancing the core value of the platform, including chatting, hanging out with friends, and self-expression. You will work across the full stack to build features that make Discord the best place for gaming and socializing. The role emphasizes strong product sense and the ability to navigate different technical stacks effectively.
Responsibilities
- Build high-quality products with a strong focus on performance, impact, and user delight.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, UX Research, and Marketing to shape the team’s vision and roadmap.
- Identify solutions that balance user experience, delivery speed, and business impact through close partnership with design and product teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
- Specialized experience building consumer-facing products on web and mobile platforms.
- Domain expertise in web or mobile front-end development (or both).
- Willingness to learn new languages and frameworks, with comfort working across the full stack.
- Experience in a product team with clear metrics goals and a track record of measurable positive customer impact.
- Strong product sense and attention to UX details.
- Commitment to helping team members succeed and grow through empathetic feedback.
Pay and benefits
The base salary for this full-time position is $196,000 – $245,000 USD. This position is also eligible for equity and benefits. Individual pay within the range is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
