About the role
Join Airbnb’s People Analytics & Research team to tackle complex workforce challenges. You will partner with leaders in Recruiting, Compensation, and Talent to turn rigorous analysis into actionable decisions. This role focuses on applying causal inference and quasi-experimental methods to high-stakes people data, ensuring fair processes and a best-in-class workforce.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define people-related business problems and gather relevant data.
- Apply statistical models to analyze recruiting, hiring, promotion, retention, pay equity, and organizational effectiveness.
- Translate insights into clear visualizations and narratives to drive strategic decisions.
- Lead compensation analytics in close partnership with Employment Legal and Total Rewards.
- Design and measure Airbnb’s quality-of-hire metric with the Recruiting team.
- Own sensitive statutory and governance reporting.
- Utilize AI tools, including the AirPanda platform and LLM-based agents, to accelerate analysis and prototyping.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience.
- Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field.
- Deep experience with causal inference on observational data and quasi-experimental research design.
- Proficiency in R or Python for statistical analysis and SQL for data access.
- Familiarity with survey design and analysis.
- Experience applying data science to compensation, recruiting, or workforce questions, including legally sensitive data.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional partners of varying technical levels.
- Experience working with large practical datasets.
Pay and benefits
- Base pay range: $180,000 – $210,000 USD.
- Eligibility for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
- Remote-eligible position; you must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
- Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required.
