About the role
Robinhood is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join the Event Contracts team in New York, NY. This role focuses on building and evolving customer-facing mobile experiences that allow users to discover, access, and trade Event Contracts. You will work within the Prediction Markets division, owning key parts of the product surface, including the Predict tab and related account flows. The position is based in the New York City office, with in-person attendance expected at least three days per week.
Responsibilities
- Build intuitive and stable mobile experiences using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android APIs.
- Lead the full lifecycle of product features, from ideation and technical design to implementation, testing, and release.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, Backend Engineers, and Data Scientists to create impactful solutions.
- Champion engineering best practices to ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Mentor junior developers and help elevate team standards and collaboration.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience developing Android applications.
- Proficiency with Kotlin and/or Java, and a strong grasp of Android SDK and architecture patterns like MVVM.
- Experience using Jetpack Compose, Coroutines & Flow or RxJava, and libraries such as Retrofit and Room.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with a product-focused mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor peers, lead complex projects, and influence architecture decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Pay and benefits
- Base pay range for New York, NY (Zone 1): $196,000 – $230,000 USD.
