About the role
21c Museum Hotels is a unique hospitality brand that blends a contemporary art museum, boutique hotel, and chef-driven restaurant. As a Security Officer, you will report to the Front Office Manager. Your primary goal is to ensure the safety and security of the hotel’s assets, guests, and employees by handling security issues and emergency situations in line with company policies.
Responsibilities
- Patrol all hotel areas, including outside parking, to identify and report unusual circumstances or safety violations.
- Respond immediately to emergency alarms or calls for help and notify appropriate authorities.
- Document incidents, accidents, and safety violations in daily security logs and required forms.
- Conduct investigations into security incidents and enforce the hotel’s ‘No Solicitation Policy’ while respecting the museum’s open door policy.
- Escort and witness cash handling as needed.
- Use portable radios, telephones, and computers to communicate and record information.
- Attend quarterly Night Shift meetings with management.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of prior experience in loss prevention.
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Must pass a background check.
- Excellent hearing, speech, vision, and literacy skills to communicate effectively and complete reports.
- Ability to recognize drug and alcohol abuse.
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry equipment or people in emergencies.
- Willingness to stand for extended periods and use stairs during fire alarms, as elevators may not be available.
- Some driving may be required.
