About the role
Gopuff is seeking a Process Lead for Fresh Grocery to join the Operations team in Philadelphia. You will report to the Site Leader or Manager and serve as a key member of the leadership team. Your primary focus is ensuring fresh products are received, picked, packed, and loaded accurately, safely, and on time. You will lead the day-to-day performance of Fresh Grocery Operations Associates on both inbound and outbound sides, with a strong emphasis on freshness, food safety, and on-time truck departures.
Responsibilities
- Shift Leadership: Direct associate activities across receiving, picking, packing, and truck loading. Assign labor to meet receiving windows and departure times, and escalate issues to leadership in real time.
- Inbound Operations: Oversee the unloading and receiving of fresh, refrigerated, and frozen deliveries. Resolve vendor discrepancies, make acceptance/rejection calls based on quality and temperature, and maintain the cold chain with minimal dock dwell time.
- Outbound Operations: Plan and sequence picking and packing to ensure routes are staged before departure. Verify load accuracy, coordinate with drivers, and manage returns or unloaded product according to food safety rules.
- Food Safety & Quality: Own sanitation standards, including temperature logs for coolers, freezers, and trucks. Conduct audits for damage and expiry, lead shrink reduction, and execute site projects such as inventory counts and onboarding.
- Performance & Training: Assist in meeting objectives for labor management, accuracy, and on-time departures. Troubleshoot defects like mispacks or temperature excursions. Train new associates on receiving, cold chain, and loading standards when needed.
Requirements
- 2 years of internal Gopuff experience.
- 2+ years of leadership experience in grocery, retail, warehouse/distribution, military, restaurant, or equivalent fields.
- 1+ year of experience improving processes and efficiencies.
- Experience with fresh or perishable product, cold chain, or food handling (highly preferred).
- ServSafe or food handler certification (highly preferred).
- Comfortable working in cooler and freezer environments for extended periods.
- Ability to work fluid schedules, including peak receiving hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, walk, and lift up to 49 pounds.
- Forklift or powered pallet jack experience (a plus).
- Professional fluency in Spanish (preferred).
Pay and benefits
The hourly wage for this position in Philadelphia, PA is $18.80. Gopuff determines pay based on market pricing and a cost-of-labor index for the geographic area.
