About the role
One Medical is seeking a Phlebotomist, internally known as a Lab Services Specialist, to join their team in Reston, VA. This full-time position involves providing exceptional patient experiences through venipuncture and other clinical support services. You will report to the Operations Manager and collaborate with providers and administrative staff to support patients’ primary care journeys. The role emphasizes high-quality specimen collection, processing, and a calming, personalized patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide venipuncture services for patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
- Perform extended scope duties such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs.
- Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization.
- Support members beyond the lab room by answering messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting with clerical duties like biometric screening forms and billing inquiries.
- Utilize One Medical’s technology suite, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and the 1Life Electronic Medical Record System.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of working experience as a Phlebotomist (clinical rotations, internships, or externships do not count).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer technology, including typing and navigating multiple software systems simultaneously.
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to instill trust during the collection process and deliver human-centered care.
- Experience with extended scope care (EKGs, vaccines, etc.) is preferred.
Pay and benefits
- Hourly wage: $24.25 to $26.25 based on a standard full-time schedule.
- Full-time role: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts between 7 AM and 7 PM.
