About the role
One Medical is seeking a Medical Receptionist, also known as a Member Support Specialist, to join our Lincoln Park office in Chicago. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless and positive in-office experience. This role focuses on removing barriers to care and maintaining the high standards of the One Medical brand.
Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Manage patient intake, check-in/check-out, and same-day schedule management using the C-I-CARE communication framework.
- Administrative Support: Handle insurance verification, billing inquiries, and paperwork tasks.
- Office Maintenance: Perform opening and closing duties, restock supplies, and ensure the lobby and employee spaces are clean and on-brand.
- Technology: Utilize One Medical’s technology suite, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and the 1Life Electronic Medical Record System.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in team huddles, support providers with ad-hoc requests, and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in high-touch customer or patient-facing roles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in collaborative, diverse, and feedback-driven teams.
- Proficiency in computer technology, including typing and navigating multiple software systems simultaneously.
- Ability to remain calm and forward-thinking under pressure.
