About the role
Reddit is seeking a Machine Learning Engineering Manager to join the Core Ads Ranking team. This position focuses on advancing user representation, graph learning, and sequence modeling across various ad verticals. You will help build robust pipelines and state-of-the-art architectures for foundational models. This role offers a chance to shape Reddit’s roadmap for deep user understanding while collaborating with downstream teams in Retrieval, Shopping, and Conversion Prediction.
Responsibilities
- Set Technical Vision: Define and execute a roadmap for foundational models and user understanding, balancing long-term investments with measurable milestones.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with vertical customer teams, signal teams, and infrastructure teams to align on strategy and priorities.
- Drive Technical Execution: Oversee the model development lifecycle from ideation to deployment, ensuring high standards of performance and reliability.
- Lead and Mentor: Recruit, mentor, and retain top ML talent while fostering a culture of growth and technical excellence.
Requirements
- 1+ years of management experience leading ML-focused teams.
- 6+ years of experience building and scaling machine learning models.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Proven ability in training, evaluating, and deploying large-scale models.
- Experience working with foundational models, user, or content understanding.
- Experience with Ads is a plus.
Pay and benefits
The base salary range for this position is $230,000 – $322,000 USD. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units and may be eligible for commission depending on the specific position offered.
