About the role
SpaceX is developing technologies to enable human life on Mars. As an Internal Fleet Driver, you will play a key part in this mission by safely transporting flight, non-flight, fabrication, and tooling items between SpaceX sites at Vandenberg Space Force Base. This position requires strict adherence to safety protocols and high standards of vehicle maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Load, drive, and unload trucks while ensuring cargo is secure and undamaged.
- Follow all rules of the road and maintain a clean, well-maintained vehicle.
- Scan barcodes and review documentation to confirm correct items and delivery areas.
- Monitor vehicle service records and report any issues to your manager immediately.
- Contact your supervisor during emergencies to resolve issues effectively.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean DMV record.
- 2+ years of professional commercial driving experience.
- 1+ years of professional forklift experience.
- Ability to pass an Air Force background check for Vandenberg Space Force Base.
- Ability to work shifts from 11:00 am to 9:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, including overtime and weekends as needed.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs unassisted and perform physical tasks such as standing, climbing, and bending.
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
