About the role
Instacart is seeking an Insights Manager II to join the Retail Insights team. This remote position focuses on turning rich grocery data into clear decisions for key retail partners. You will serve as the analytical backbone for a portfolio of major grocery retailers, helping them understand performance and growth opportunities. The role sits at the intersection of data analysis, storytelling, and commercial impact.
Responsibilities
- Translate ambiguous business questions into clear answers and actionable strategies for retail partners.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify root causes of performance dips or new opportunities.
- Partner with Business Development to craft rigorous and compelling quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and sell-in conversations.
- Build and improve internal tools, frameworks, and narratives to help cross-functional teams move from raw data to clear direction.
- Act as the subject matter expert on macro business, operational, and customer trends across your assigned retailer set.
Requirements
- Must-have: Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries to pull and analyze data.
- Must-have: Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience presenting to senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Must-have: Intellectual curiosity and a drive to get to the root cause of a problem.
- Must-have: Hands-on AI experience and knowledge, including applying AI tools to analytical workflows.
- Preferred: Deeper technical experience such as detailed modeling and dashboarding.
- Preferred: Experience at a technology company, consulting, or finance.
Pay and benefits
Instacart offers market-competitive compensation based on your permanent work location. The base pay ranges are as follows:
- CA, NY, CT, NJ: $153,000 – $161,500 USD
- WA: $147,000 – $155,000 USD
- OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $140,000 – $148,000 USD
- All other states: $128,000 – $135,000 USD
This role is eligible for a new hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants. Instacart is a Flex First team, allowing employees to choose where they do their best work, whether from home, an office, or another location.
