About the role
Join the finance team at the Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra, a premier condo-hotel in Honolulu. As a Hotel Accountant, you will support the Hotel Controller in managing daily financial operations. You will ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with company policies and statutory regulations. This role is central to maintaining the integrity of the hotel’s financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage financial accounting and reporting for the hotel’s rental program.
- Prepare and review monthly owner statements and financial reports.
- File monthly and annual tax returns, including GET, TAT, and OTAT.
- Perform accounts payable and receivable functions for owner-related issues.
- Handle IRS reporting requirements and withholding for foreign owners.
- Assist with annual operating budgets and quarterly forecasting.
- Conduct daily balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
- Manage cash deposits, petty cash, and refund processing.
- Track purchase orders and review travel agent commission invoices.
- Maintain accurate filing systems and support month-end closing processes.
Requirements
- Accounting qualification from a recognized institution.
- At least three years of experience in a finance or accounting department.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work accurately and independently.
- Strong written communication skills for reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
