About the role
SpaceX is seeking an entry-level line cook to join its food service team in Redmond, WA. This position focuses on preparing high-quality meals that boost employee morale and productivity. You will work at one of SpaceX’s food outlets, ensuring all dishes meet leadership specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Station Management: Set up, operate, and maintain a clean and safe workstation.
- Food Preparation: Complete daily prep tasks and cook dishes according to specifications.
- Service Support: Plate completed dishes and help the team meet time and quality standards.
- Cleaning: Clean kitchen equipment and work or storage areas.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Experience: Culinary degree or at least 2 years of experience in the food service industry.
- Skills: Basic knife skills, knowledge of kitchen equipment, and understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for up to 8 hours, and perform frequent bending and stooping.
- Availability: Willingness to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed.
- Work Authorization: To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Pay and benefits
- Pay: Level 1 base pay is $23.00. Actual pay may vary based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
