About the role
Blank Street is looking for a Barista in Washington, D.C. to help create memorable customer experiences. You will work in a fast-paced environment, preparing high-quality coffee and matcha drinks while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. This role requires a balance of independent problem-solving and teamwork to build a strong community for both customers and staff.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Provide consistent, engaging service to turn first-time visitors into regulars.
- Drink Preparation: Use industry-leading equipment to prepare coffee, matcha, and other beverages with precision.
- Inventory Management: Monitor par levels to minimize waste and ensure product freshness.
- Compliance: Adhere to local Department of Health standards and all brand training playbooks.
- Operations: Collaborate with Operations and Marketing teams to drive sales and profitability.
Requirements
- Experience: At least 1 year in customer service, preferably in hospitality or coffee.
- Age: Must be 18 years or older.
- Physical Ability: Able to lift 25+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Availability:
- Part-Time: 15-25 hours/week (3 days), including 2 peak days (Fri, Sat, or Sun).
- Full-Time: 30-40 hours/week (4-5 days), including 2 peak days (Fri, Sat, or Sun).
- Work Authorization: You must be authorized to work in the U.S. Blank Street will use E-Verify to confirm authorization upon hire.
Pay and benefits
