About the role
SpaceX is seeking a temporary Barista to join the Hospitality team in Starbase, TX. This role supports the company’s mission by providing high-quality beverage service and a welcoming atmosphere to employees, visitors, and partners. The position is temporary for three months, with the possibility of conversion to a permanent role based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of coffee, espresso, tea, and food products using manual espresso machines and other equipment.
- Set up, maintain, and clean workstations, dining areas, and storage spaces to ensure safety and organization.
- Handle customer orders, inquiries, and menu changes with strong communication skills.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance on departmental tools and drip coffee stations.
- Complete daily record keeping, opening/closing checklists, and assist with catering requests.
- Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and general safety guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- At least 1 year of barista experience or 2+ years in customer service within a food service environment involving coffee/beverages.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel to various SpaceX locations for mission-critical projects.
- Availability to work all shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hours, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform frequent bending and stooping.
- Must have or obtain a TX Food Handlers card (training provided).
- ITAR eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, Refugee, or Asylee, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
