About the role
As an Assistant Coach (Assistant General Manager) at sweetgreen, you will serve as a hands-on leader, strategist, and mentor. You will support the store by inspiring your team, driving operational excellence, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. Your goal is to use data-driven insights to build healthier communities through real food.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team: Partner with the Head Coach on hiring, onboarding, and training while fostering a culture of trust and recognition.
- Maintain food safety: Uphold high standards for cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and compliance by inspecting food quality and checking temperatures.
- Enhance customer experience: Ensure a clean, hospitable, and brand-aligned guest journey by acting on experience metrics and making timely business decisions.
- Manage finances: Support operational excellence by managing controllable costs, executing schedules, and driving sales using insights from the Ops Dashboard.
- Oversee systems: Ensure effective team deployment and expert use of systems by supporting daily operations and troubleshooting issues.
Requirements
- 2+ years in a restaurant management or supervisory role.
- Experience managing and developing 6+ team members per shift.
- Food Handler or ServSafe certification.
- Availability to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience in fast casual restaurant chains and with local, organic, and sustainable products is preferred.
