About the role
High Performance Consulting is a professional service organization focused on corporate and individual development. We are currently recruiting an experienced Truck Mechanic to join our team in Lagos. This role involves maintaining, servicing, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks to ensure they are safe and fit for operation.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults in engines, transmissions, braking, suspension, and steering systems.
- Perform routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and necessary repairs on heavy-duty trucks.
- Respond to truck breakdowns to support timely fault resolution.
- Test and inspect vehicles after repairs to ensure safety and readiness for deployment.
- Maintain accurate records of servicing, repairs, and parts replaced.
- Follow workshop safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
- Report major, recurring, or complex faults to the Workshop Supervisor.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a truck or heavy-duty vehicle mechanic.
- Practical experience working with HOWO, FAW, MAN, and/or Iveco trucks is required.
- Minimum of an OND, technical certificate, or relevant vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy workshop environment.
